Building a custom 58 grille
After getting a quote of 800.00 to repair and re-chrome my 58 gmc grille, I'm thinking of building my own. I know I'm straying from the classic look, but this rig is a 4x4 and I think this design may be cool. I was never a huge fan of the GMC grille anyway and the parking lights are near impossible to find.
I was originally going to go with RECTANGULAR steel tubing, but cant find anything in the sizes I'm after. Aluminum bar stock would work well and comes in a better variety of sizes. I could polish it to a mirror finish, but it may be a pain to maintain. Probably will use steel and have it chromed for a couple hundred bucks. Open to ideas and suggestions as always! Rough sketch...concept#1
