Adjusting hood?

Greetings,

I replaced the grill and radiator support on my 69 (don't ask why), so I had to pull the hood and the passenger fender. Everything went well. I am a British car/motorcycle guy and usually only have 4 hood bolts to contend with. I have all 10 bolts loose and I have to believe there is simple trick to getting it right. As usual it was pretty close right from the start, I should've stopped, but I know it can be better. Thanks for all replies. Phil
