1967 C10 Won't shift gears unless truck is moving

Good afternoon all!

First time poster here!

I've got a 1967 Chevy C10. First issue is that the truck won't shift gears unless it is rolling. That's not normal right!?

Second issues is that when in neutral or shifting gears, the shifter feels somewhat difficult to move. It's not a smooth shift and feels just kind of...off. Like there's some resistance or something.

The linkages look ok so my next steps will be to try and make the shifter adjustment per another post on this site (putting a 3/16" drill bit between the gear selectors) and to replace the bushings. Are there any other issues I should be looking at?

Thanks all!
