Newbie needs help regarding '67

Hey all,

I'm new to the forum and new to C10's and had some questions for the veterans of this board. I have an opportunity to pick up a '67 stepside 6cyl manual from a friend of mine for $4k. I'm attaching a few pics for reference, but my main question is, is this a good truck to start with for the price?

My intentions are to swap the bed, drop in a 5.3l with auto trans, disc brakes, some suspension and interior work to make it a DD.

Any comments, suggestions, warnings, etc. are welcomed! Thank you!
