700-R4Transmission Cooling
Gents,
I have the following: HBR (LasVegas) 383 Stroker built for low end (425 HP, 415 FtLbTq maybe more? not sure till the dyno) 700-R4 Transmission, built for towing (Vette servos yadda yadda) Hughes lockup converter GM22LXTM Hughes transmission cooler HP8231, with fan RnD Radiator with transmission cooler option My question is: What is the best way to run these tranny lines? I know that I will be generating high transmission / converter temps because of hauling those darn horses around the high country, but also, long trips in cold north country unloaded. I want the optimum transmission temperature. Should I go transmission to radiator to transmission cooler? I have thought about a 3 way valve to cut in and cut out the transmission cooler depending on temperature. Schematics are great / or verbal. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
