Drop Spindle decisions help
I have a question for you guys about drop spindles and springs. I have a 65 C10 I'm currently dropping. I want as much static drop as I can get with out to much problem. I have purchased a complete 83 front suspension with booster, rotors, sway bar, gear box etc. I have torn it apart to rebuild and powder coat. I'm at the point now where I'm ordering drop spindles and springs. I thought I knew what wanted until I started looking. I thought 2.5" drop spindle and a 3" drop spring will give me 5.5" of total drop and put me where I want. I start shopping online for good American made stuff and settled on either Mcgaughy's or Belltech. Well Mcgaughys has 2.5" drop spindles and 2" drop springs available and Belltech has 3" drop spindles with 1" drop springs available.
I guess my question is, "is it not recommended to drop the front suspension more than 4.5" in total?
I threw a picture in so y'all can see what a cluster F*!$K I got going on. Going to do this right the first time so I don't have to redo anything. I want drive it like yesterday, but it take time. I appreciate your advise. Thanks, Bill
