How do you know if a bumper (bar) OEM?
I received a rear "sport" bumper as a gift about two decades ago, for my 1971. It has a "Stockton Plating" plate on the back. The back of the bumper is painted black, but there's chrome underneath.
How can you tell you have an OEM bumper w/o a parts sticker?................. Doesn't seem likely they'd re-chrome a reproduction, especially 20 some years ago. I found a reproduction on-line and claimed 24 pounds. I'll weigh mine tonight, see what happens. I jacked it up when installed it long ago, though it's fairly minor. I don't believe the brackets were lined up correctly, so they put a few small dents in it.....That's what I get for not paying attention. If this is OEM, at some point I'll have it re-chromed. I'm no body man, but i'd think straightening it out is straight forward. Seems couple of plates on both sides and tighten the bolts until straight. Just guessing. Thanks
