76 c10 on 86 cab issues

Hey fellas found some topics similar but dance around my question. I have a 76 c10 and I replaced the old cab because of rust. I have an 86 on it now but I have encountered a new issues.

1. 86 column wiper wires and trying to use 76 wiper motor. Things just aren't working right when I use the controls on the column. Thinking I need an 80s wiper motor?

2. Light panel/dash mismatch- these are no aligning right. I thought they were backwards compatible with the metal dash frame being the same? So my plan is to remove the old dash from my 76 and replace the 86. I'm a sucker for the old style dash.

3. Hood support pins- they support the back of the hood to rest on when it's closed. It doesn't look like there is a place to screw my old ones in, I think I'll have to measure and drill?

4. Fenders don't really match the cab angles around the lower windshield. The top bolt is a tight squeeze to install it with the fender hole aligning to the cab. I'll try and get some pictures later today. I haven't played with the shims too much yet but I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

I appreciate your help, I always heard the cabs where backwards compatible but these little issues I must of overlooked.
