Becareful!!
I went to the maching shop today to drop off my heads, for my 383. The guy that works there wanted to show me something while I was at the shop. He took me out in the shop area, and showed me this World Product big block. Bare block, brand new, ( not sure what Cubic inch it was ). Any way, I wish I would of had my camera with me to take picture of this block. His customer bought this block off of E-bay, the guy selling it described the block as brand new, NO BLEMS! He droped the block off at the shop for the work to began on it, the guys at the shop went to start on it, and it is 100% junk, took it back off the stand and put it by the door for the guy to come and pick it up, they can not do any thing with it.
Where the main caps bolt to the block, the flat surface where the bolt goes through was not even machined at the main bolt, still had casting on block in this area. Where the main bearing sit, that was machined, but it had pit holes all in that area, some of them were so big that they put some kind of e - poxy in the holes before they shiped the block. I have never ever seen any thing like this. Even the main cap were rough! Just thought I would share this with you guys, alot of you are like me, I buy stuff off of E-bay alot. so far everything been good. But to spend this kind of money on an after market block and it shows at your door in that shape, I would be pissed! So you guy becareful out there in E-bay land. Sam
