1966 K20 Manual to Power Steering question

Hello,
I recently found my dream truck, a '66 K20, although this baby will need lots of work. I am getting together the 'list' before starting on this project. This truck does not have the original 6 Cyl, the one they put in it has a power steering pump on it so I was wondering if you guys could help me out with what else will it take to convert? Is it as simple as a different steering box or is it more than meets the eye?
Also, how can I tell if the 6 banger I have is a 292 or not?
Thanks much,
Karl
