Hi everyone, haven't been on here for a while but, just down the road from me there is a unknown year, gmc c5500 chevy 350 v8 and 4 speed (2 speed rear end) For all you other owners of either gmc or chevy heavy haulers, where are you getting parts? I have no idea where to look, and ive googled gmc c5500 parts but everything is for the newer models knowing the exact year would be nice. I went right down the frame with a hammer, and surprisingly, it is very solid there are 57000 miles on it and there is a considerable amount of cab rust but that doesn't bother me, easy to fix. What should i look for on these trucks that are known to fail/break/rust out? I did start it, it ran for about a minute and then i shut it off, went to restart it and nothing, think it's a loose wire, didn't crank over at all. It's on a little hill right next to a main road and there is no brake pressure so i wasn't going to attempt to move it
Also, what would you pay for something like this, i talked to her about 3 months ago, and she said something like $1000 obo so im thinking in my head that means $500
We'll see. One more thing, there is the 2 speed selector switch on the shift arm, but what is the othere lever, a parking brake? couldn't figure it out. (Should be third picture) Here r some pics:
