Motor mounts and freeze plugs

OK time to start on the 1972 350 motor mounts and freeze plugs. I have read a tremendous amount on here about the process. Some make it sound easy others a real pain. Too me appears to be the latter. Should one side be done at a time?Mine is totally stock with air. Does the mount need to be loosened before jacking with a 2x4 under the oil pan? looks to be a real pain but I need to do it. Thanks for any info.
