Hello from Ohio with a 65 Suburban
Craigslist is the devil. Let me just say that.
It led me to find and buy a 65 Suburban that made it's way to Ohio from Oregon towing a big UHaul trailer full of possessions and ended up on Craigslist when the owner needed a worktruck. I've owned a number of 60-66 C-10's over the years from various places south and west and a 72 3 door Suburban from a firehouse down in Tennessee, but never a pre 67 Suburban. This one is relatively straight from what I can see but it will need some floor pans and other love via the LMC catalog and some major work on one badly placed dent. However, I haven't seen one of these in Ohio for years and I've always wanted one. The biggest reasons I couldn't let it go was a factory 4 speed on the floor (granny first + 3) and the fact that it was originally dark green, I believe it is GM 99-77161. It has such oddities as a 1960 grille because the current owner liked it better than the original 65 design and a 350 rather than whatever was in there from the factory so it will never be a show truck but hopefully over time it will be a fun and unique driver. So here we go! |
