Shock suggestions

I have a '73 C20 Camper Special, 350/350, with a utility bed. Since the thing rides like a brick I'll be putting in front springs from a lighter duty version and pulling a couple leaves out back. I also found a rear axle with the gearing and locker I want (3.73/G80).

Since I'll be replacing lots of suspension parts I'd like to replace the shocks, I suspect they're original and would be surprised if they're younger than I am. On the one hand I don't want cheap China crap, on the other hand I'd rather not spend $1000 on shocks for a truck worth maybe double that on a good day.

Any suggestions?
