Fly wheel dust covers not fitting

I swapped in a gen v 454 and when I went to put in the dust shields they do not fit the upper flat piece hits the crank which isn't huge I can cut the crank portion bigger but the bottom dish hits the flywheel was there separate covers for bbc or is it just the later gen flywheel is bigger both the 350 and 454 have a 12" clutch. Just wondering if someone knows wats up and knows where to find one that fits or if I'm better off notching the dish and having fun with a tig welder and some sheet metal
