Bittersweet purchase today...
So about a week ago a gentleman in Georgia saw a picture I shared on a Facebook group of my 72 Cheyenne Super K10 and messaged me asking if I'd consider selling it. He indicated that he's specifically been looking for a good shortbox K10 Super to do a full factory restoration on. My response was the same one I've given everyone else that has asked if it was for sale: "Not really, but almost everything is available for the right price." Well, after a few days and a few offers, he got to a price that I felt was fair and that would leave me with enough funds for a replacement toy and some projects that we've been looking at doing here at the house. So as of next weekend, the K10 Super will have a new home where it'll get the restoration I wish I could afford!
So today I took a little road trip down towards Memphis to look at a 71 Cheyenne Super Longhorn. The same truck was discussed previously on this post: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=688631 Turns out it was a really clean truck for the money, so I went ahead and slapped the cash down and drove home smiling! Now I have a week to wait to go back with a trailer and pick it up. As discussed in the previous thread, the SPID is a reprod but I'm pretty confident it was a Super originally. No idea how many of the options were added later, and it shows medium olive under a few spots of flaked paint in the bed and on the firewall, but I couldn't care less at this point. I'm excited to have a highly optioned driver that just needs a little elbow grease and not much money! It runs and drives incredibly well, so I'm going to just clean up the interior, buff the paint out, replace the bed wood, and enjoy the crap out of it! Here's the album of all the pictures I have so far. https://flickr.com/photos/10864082@N...57666344814560 ![]() ![]() ![]()
