Rear Bags for Towing
Have been doing a lot of towing with the old truck so I decided last week to put in rear bags, and thought I would share my install if anyone was looking for some quick info...
Tried to keep it as simple and inexpensive as possible. All parts, minus the gauge, were ordered from seller id "wheelsnparts" on ebay, who is actually https://airslamit.com/ I went with D2600 bags, and 1/4" line. The bags came with the top bracket I needed, so the install was as simple as popping out my old springs, and bolting in the bags. Before putting the bags in, just make sure to test for leaks, some people use plumbers tape, I went with loctite 565. For the gauge I just went with a dual needle APC I also got on ebay. All in, about $250. As far as running the lines, I just went down the inside of the frame, following the taillight wires and popped them out my license plate with schrader valves so I can fill up with my 12v air compressor or at a gas station easily. For the lines, I still plan to add some more clips to keep the snug to the frame, and some rubber grommets for the holes I ran them through. ![]() ![]() |
