New project ( 78 C10 )

I've been wanting a squarebody Chevy for a long time. And after SEMA this past year, I couldn't wait any longer.

I found a 78 that was purchased brand new at my dealership ( W-K Chevrolet ) back in 78. In the late 90's it was completely restored with all new GM sheetmetal. Just a short time after the restoration, it was tucked away in a friends shop ( Around 2002 ). It hasn't moved since then.



I've got a little work to do, but the body/paint are both perfect, and there isn't a lick of rust anywhere on or underneath the truck.

I need to replace the interior, I think I'll be getting all of that from LMC. I'm thinking buckskin for doors, dash, and carpet. I've sourced a set of OEM backet seats in buckskin with a center console that would have come in the truck back in 78. That's the plan on the interior.

Truck comes with the original 350, which needs some work. I'll keep that in a bag in the shop for some time, since I already have a fresh 327 with a hydraulic RV cam that I'll be using for now.

The brakes will all need to be replaced, which I will do at the same time I install the 5/7 drop and 15x8 rally wheels. :-)

I'm saving the LS swap for when I do a proper dropmember and coil over suspension someday. For now I want it running and driving, and LOW LOW LOW, with nice new interior.
