I use the R45ts, and have tried the 44's. The lean condition is tied to the carb. I like the hotter plug for economy and complete burn as I use about 1 quart of oil every 3,000 miles.

You could also go with the R45 which is a colder plug than the TS (Tapered Seat) and the most likely manufacture a R44 also.

Take a look at them side by side next time you are in the auto parts store.

100 ways to burn, pick your poison for your set up. I have an Eddy carb, Stock Hei with Pertronix Module and Accel Super Coil sitting on top. I have found todays E10 Likes a hotter spark.

Pretty stock here otherwise.
