49 Chevy 3100 Project
I've been lingering for a while and decided I better put up a few pictures of my new project. This was my Uncle's 49 chevy 3100 who just recently passed away, wasn't sure what was going to happen to it but I was able to purchase it. I'm still trying to get more information but I believe he purchased this truck back in the early 80's and had big plans for it... Sadly I don't think he ever got a chance to really work on it though and other than a few small things and some dreams I believe it pretty much looked like this when he bought it. He always talked about getting it on the road and held onto it everytime he moved.
So my plan is to get it back on the road by March 2017, so I can give my 92 year old Grandma a ride in it. Her birthday is in January and I would really like to have it looking like something by then and then road worthy by spring. It's not going to be anything fancy. I'm not going to paint it, probably try to get some of the faded maroon paint (almost pink now) off to show some of the original green paint hiding underneath. And I will probably do some sort of door logo tribute for my Uncle. It is getting all new front and rear suspension and an LS1/4l60E. Picked up a MII setup for the front and have a 8.8 exploder rearend. Enough BS onto some pictures. |
