Three on Tree shift linkage
Hey guys. It's awesome to be on this site. I own a 1966 C10 283 with the three on the tree wit 148,000 original miles. I've got it running with parts I had laying around. Put in a 350 in place of the worn out 283 (dead cylinder and smoked worse than me) and a four speed muncie in place of the three on the tree. My truck was parked around 20 years ago in a field. It was parked there because the original owner ran over something(a big rock) and it took out the shift linkage rods. The transmission is not cracked or hurt in anyway surprisingly. The original owner took the rods out to get the truck mobile and threw the rods away.
I'm now trying to find new shift linkage rods for the three on the tree and all of the pins, nuts, bolts, bushings etc to get it driving with the 283 and three speed transmission. I'm going to use the 350/4 speed for something else. Would 67-72 shift rods work for my 66? I can find them all day long but no 60-66. Also, any photos or existing posts would be wonderful. I'm excited to be apart of this awesome forum and I can't wait to get started. -Cam |
