My 56 rear swaybar installation
I purchased a Moser 12 bolt rear end housing to replace my existing stock 68 Camaro 12 bolt after axle tube failure. While I was at it I wanted to add a rear swaybar to the mix. Looking at all the info on this and other sites, I ordered one from Summit for a 68 Camaro. To my surprise it matched up relatively easy and wasn't difficult to install to the stock truck frame. I took pictures as I worked through the process should anyone else want to consider it.
Specs... My rear suspension consist of a 12 bolt 68 Camaro application. I located the rear end on top of the springs installing 2" wide perches. The stock leaf springs have several leafs removed per side. Ride level is 2.5" to the top of the rearend housing to the bottom of the bed wood. This is as low as I can go without contacting the bottom of the bed or major frame and bed modifications should be considered. I can't tell you if this will work with 4 link or airbagged suspensions...just so you know Enjoy the pictures Joe |
