Cowl Drains?
I've got the front end off, the I6 engine & tranny is out, the I6 rear crossmember is out, and I've got to weld in some patches in the firewall for the clutch rod hole and the old throtlle pedal to convert it to a cable throttle. I also have a quarter-sized hole to patch that one of the previous owners punched into the upper part of the cab area for a radio antenna, and I got to looking at how the cowl area is supposed to drain. On my '70 short step, I've got metal kick panels that seal that area off, and it looks like the water runs down into the rocker panel area. I've noticed that, after a rain, if I back out of my sloping driveway, a lot of water drains from an accumulation in the rocker area. Shouldn't the rocker panels have drain holes or drain areas, or is there another area that should be draining?
While I'm at it, with the metal kick panels in place, is it possible to install the aftermarket kickpanels with speakers in them? |
