1967 C10 "Spare Parts"
Ended up getting my 67' C10 2wd long box back from a buddy a few weeks back, don't plan on getting to crazy with it, just gonna play on the cheap....actually want to see how cheap I can really do it.....kinda like when I was in high school with limited funds and we just made stuff work. See where it goes but for now it's a good place for some of my spare parts to reside for a while and I have no real deadline or time crunch to build it. Won't be a show stopper, just a fun driver and something I can teach my 11 year old daughter to drive (3spd std).
So buddy drops off the truck, I immediatley order up some 1" 6 lug spacers, install my transports with 285s on them, located a super sweet camper shell for it off a 67 Mercury truck of all things.....found some seats for it, picked up a 4bbl intake, carb, and internal regulated alternator. She got a good scrubbing with some comet on the power polisher, then some 3M aggressive polish and she came out beautiful. Brought out a bit more patina and left a nice shine to it. It's still getting a 3/5 static drop, 81 chevy front crossmember, power steering conversion, and some safety items like emergency brake cables. brake hoses, exhaust etc. Tracking down used cost efficient parts as I go saving as much as I can. To date: Camper shell $150 Intake/carb/alternator $80 HEI ignition $20 81 GM crossmember complete with everything $100 Transport wheels $200 285/22s $500 Wheel spacers $178 Seats $100
