speakers...............

This one's for the audio guru's cause i know nothing about them. I put in my bucket seats now i'm building a custom center console. I was thinking of putting 2 8 inch subs in it with one facing the drivers feet and the other facing the passengers feet. The box will be 10 inches wide. My question is what is the depth on 8 inch speakers. will i be able to do this or will they be too deep where they won't fit. anybody got any ideas on that? thanks in advance
