Use Duct Tape?
nroden
Member posted May 26, 2002 11:21 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I got new AC/Heat vent hoses for my truck and put them on. I tried it out and it works well. The one thing I had was leaks between the plastic pieces where it "divideds up the air". Should I just duct tape the cracks where the small leaks are? ------------------ Nick Rodenberg Wellington, MO http://nickrod.port5.com You can click on "My 72 Chevy Truck" I have a 72 Cheyenne 10 with a V8 350 and a TH-350 auto-tranny. white/ochre/white/ochre ochre/saddle interior Runs well... working on body. Plan to get painted weekend before memorial day weekend. Planned to be done March 7 when I turned 16. Didn't happen. Chose to do better job and be behind schedule instead of 1/2 doing it and it looking like junk. IP: Logged yellow72custom Member posted May 26, 2002 11:27 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heck yeah, duct tape is meant for heating and AC vents . I love that stuff. Our mailbox got bashed, and the pole broke off. So instead of digging a big hole in the rocky ground for another wooden pole, i drove a metal T-post (the green and white kind) into the ground. I put a 4x4 piece of lumber on the bottom of the mailbox, and duct-taped it to the T-post. It has been out there, in the weather, for about 10 months now, and she's still holding my mail. ------------------ Lucas Willow Springs, Missouri "Another proud owner of one of the coolest trucks ever built" drop_shift@hotmail.com My Daily-Driver: '72 Chevy LWB Custom/10. IP: Logged GMC Paul Member posted May 27, 2002 06:48 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If its the case seams use black silicone or RTV it will blend far better. With the money your putting into your truck I know you don't want duct tape showing. If its where a seal is where 2 cases join replace the seal. That twisting method works good for threading the hose over the retaining tabs eh Nick?
