As I said previously, the Vortec small block was produced from '96-'02 only. If your engine is indeed from a '89 Trans Am it is a TPI engine, either a 305 or a 350

Thanks for setting me straight on the motor. Haha. It looks like I had some other info wrong. I actually have a long water pump and not a short water pump. Back to the drawing board on the bracket I need.
