Bumpers - LMC, or other aftermarket worth it?

My front bumper is split on one side, like it was caught on something while a previous owner was backing up. I suppose possibly it could be welded, but I thought getting a repop painted bumper from LMC might be a good alternative for not much money.

Then I read that they are very thin, which kinda defeats the purpose of a bumper. I'm worried it would look flimsy, and also the shape shown on their catalog doesn't look identical to my original one.

Question: Are any of the aftermarket bumpers worthwhile, or should I just try to find a used original?
