FYI - Brought My 69 GMC Home

I know you folks can identify...

A friend borrowed his Dad's F-250 and trailer and helped me trailer my 69 GMC home yesterday. The idea of a Ford pulling a Chevy on a trailer bugged me, but then I kind of looked at it like the servants taking care of the king and it was easier to take. The cool thing was that the odometer reading on the GMC was lower than on the 2002 Ford. (Ford 46315, GMC 31245 original miles, I'm serious.)

We got home late and my wife was almost asleep. I bugged her until she got out of bed to come look at the truck with a flashlight. She's a kind soul.

Anyway, my first project, a '68 Chevy, is starting to look way to expensive to finish with this almost perfect GMC on the driveway. I hate to get rid of it, but my wife has banned old trucks and parts anywhere but in the garage. It'll be tough to get rid of it, but all the work I've done has been on the chassis/suspension so it'll easily transfer to the GMC.

I'm still debating whether to change the GMC into a Chevy. My heart is still with the look of the '68 since I grew-up with it. But the GMC is soo perfect. A good problem to have.

Thanks for reading my thoughts. I think if anyone can identify with my excitement, you can.

2015 Tacoma. Yeah, not a GM, but I love it.
1969 GMC 32,000 - fix, drive, relax, fix...
2019 BMW R1250 GSA - Yahoooooooo
1979 Honda GL 1000 - retro touring at its best.

Past:
'05 Sierra 4x4 - Had 270,000 KM and running well when it was written-off by a stop sign runner.
'94 F-150 from the "F word" company. I'll admit it...good truck. Sold what was left of it for $800 to a guy who came to pick it up at 11:00 PM with cash in hand. Hmm.
'79 Sierra Grande (Black) organ donor - perfect rebuildable 4-bolt 350 and a good TH350.
'76 Sierra Grande (Orange) - hate isn't too strong a word. Kid who bought it turned it into a hot rod.
'68 C-10 R.I.P. - Dad's old truck...too far gone to resurrect.
'59 C-50 - with hoist. Truck is gone, wife isn't. Nuff said.
