Nope, the square tubing is bolted to the frame, there are six legs on that square tubing frame in the exact same location where the cross sills would be. The angle strips are raised 3 inches on the bedsides and they bolt to square tubing. So when all is done the bolt will go through the angle strip, wood, and square tubing. The piece of wood in the front of the bed represents the thickness of the bed wood to insure that the bedside lines up with the body line on the cab when its installed.
