1960 Parking Brake Cable - too long?
Hi all,
I recently installed new parking brake cables from the crossmember lever contraption the 60,61 and 62 models have, all the way back to the drums. I believe the star wheels on the drums are correctly adjusted but I can't seem to get good tension on the cables to have the brakes engage enough to stop it from rolling and any slight incline. Do the re-pop cables come a tad long? If so, how does one compensate for this? I was thinking of maybe putting a spacer somewhere, where the cable leaves the sheathing, but I'm not sure if this is the correct solution or if there is a better one. Thanks for any tips/advise! |
