Chevy Tilt colum shifter attachment

I bought a 72 tilt steering column from a buddy. Neither of us realized at the time someone cut the shifter attachment off at the engine bay side until after I painted it and went to install the rubber gaskets for it. It had been installed in a manual truck and someone decided that it was no longer needed and cut it off.

I have a few standard columns I can cut up for parts and weld onto my tilt. But I also have a column out of a van that had an engine fire and melted the engine side bearings.

There is an offset in the van column shifter bracket and the standard non tilt is straight. Is the offset a van deal or is there any reason I need the offset? Can I use the straight one off the standard column?

I have no way of posting pics right now, But can someone post a pic of what a factory tilt column engine side transmission shifter bracket looks like?
