72 Crate Engine Install 95%

My truck is back on the road and doing fine. I installed a 350/290 engine with thm350. It was suggested and also mentioned in the specs. that this engine's power band was a little higher in the rpm band and might benefit from a higher stall converter. So far it seems fine, but the shifts seems a little bit slow. Almost like it wants me to let off the gas and make it shift. It has an adjustable vacuum modulator. Would an adjustment on that help make the shifts a little sooner and smoother? Transmission was completely rebuilt last year. When adjusting the modulator, which direction increases or decreases the shift?
