Mine had nothing but the screws and "clips" when new. Where is the adhesive used other than to hold the pad to the back of the carpet?

Regarding the "clips", can someone can provide all dimensions? Unfortunately, all but one of mine are still attached, but not used. I'd prefer to not remove everything to get at them.
