Old VIN search

Hey everyone, long time reader, haven't posted much.

Anyway--have a '72 k10 swb cheyenne super, and one of the two previous owners, when he repainted it, apparently swapped the SPID to match the paint color--which he changed from an olive and white to a forest green/white combo.

Anyway, I have looked places to research the matching VIN's on the frame/door which are one digit off from the SPID VIN, but haven't had any luck.

Is there a good resource to do a VIN search? Every site online is giving me a "no record found".

Thanks!
