Inner fender?

I got to put the front end on the truck for the first time, while test fitting the motor and tranny. The inner fender on the drivers side does not fit. Where it is supposed to bolt to the firewall, it is about 3" short of reaching it.

This is looking down from the top. The inner fender is the rusty part, the "primed" metal is the cab.

You can see how short it is. I'm wondering if it came from a GMC instead of a Chevy.

Anyone seen this before?
