How heavy is the paint on there? If truly factory, you can probably get the front side of a fender done in around an hour.

The key to using that type of disc is moving around and never letting the surface get too hot. Never use a wire wheel on a hood. It'll warp in about 30 seconds.

If you want to save money, you can get these for your variable speed polisher. I think I did an entire car with 2 or 3 of them.

Another trick is, if you can strip the top layer or two of paint with airplane paint stripper, wash off the surface, and then use the Eastwood tool or disc above.

A thing to worry about blasting is, unless you go to someone who has a good reputation, the chances of warping is pretty good going that route as well.
