Adjusting Door Closure for Replacement Door Seals?
I have a '67 Chevy C20 that had a whole lot of rust removal and repair.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=747394&page=5 I used press-on door seals and even with silicone the passenger side does not close properly with door seal in place. Closes fine without door seal. Driver side closes and have to still slam in a bit --- which appeared in install video too. I did re-install the passenger door after floor and repairs around door tacked in place before final welding and worked fine. But that was when old door seal still on doors. I also had to replace roof drain gutter both sides which were NOT same as OEM but best I could get - made work. *** New top door hinges were a little beyond repairs so replaced top and rebuilt bottom door hinges. I'm thinking of elongating bolt attach holes for door to get a little more outward adjustment. In particular top replacement door hinge passenger side that is still giving me some trouble. I had thought about this when door was off and should have done then relying on my "gut," but didn't when it would have been easier. Any thoughtful feedback is appreciated. |
