Anyone ever used a fuel pipe restrictor in their in cab tank neck?

I was thinking of adding one of these to my 1967 in cab Fuel tank to stop the gas from getting to the cap so easily on left turns and spilling out onto the paint. If I added a few extra small holes so it could breath would this affect the expansion and venting of the gas cap? Anyone ever done this and had problems?
