cut 1" drop springs?

I installed some 1" drop springs on the front of my '68 c10, all the rest of the front suspension is bone stock, right down tho the drum brakes.
I would like to get it about 1/2" to 3/4" lower, 1" at the absolute max.

Would cutting a half coil off my new springs accomplish this? I've never cut springs before.
Anything I need to know before I cut them?
still rides like factory with the -1" springs.
will cutting them affect ride quality much?
Maybe, I should just leave them alone. I just want it a tiny bit lower.
...Big block swap?
