WOOHOO!!! The lift install/axle swap is done on the 72!!!
Thursday evening I started the process of swapping axles from my 71 into the 72 and installing a 6" Tuff Country EZ-Ride lift in the 72 at the same time. Worked for about 5 hours that night and a good 10 hours the next (half was by myself and I'm not real fast). Just installing the lift would have been pretty easy but have to disconnect everything from both to get the axles out took a while. Plus it didn't help that the 71 was so rusty it took a 7 foot cheater bar to break every nut on the rear u-bolts loose. For tires/rims I went with Pro-Comp Mud Terrain 35x12.5x15 on Eagle Alloy 058 15x10 rims. I found they bairly fit upfront I since the caliper wore a little line into inside of the rim. A few minutes with the grinder on the corner of the caliper fixed that problem. Over all I'm very pleased with the results and the pickup looks badass I will have some pics soon.
