tbi blues

hi,
i've replaced the starter switch on my 87 chevy with a 350 motor and tbi ignition. previously i was getting no spark and no fuel. now i get fuel but still no spark!
the distributor pickup coil is new and so is the coil and the distributor module. plug wires and cap and rotor are all new. the ohm readings check out on the coil.
i'm left thinking the reluctor on the distributor shaft might be bad. anyone know if this happens very often? there was surface rust on the reluctor when i changed the pickup coil but it wasn't loose on the shaft.
