Funny Story
So, I noticed the truck still had a bit of drivetrain vibration when I got it home. Tires are balanced well and roll very smoothly at freeway speeds, However when I hit the throttle, I did feel vibration in the drivetrain.
Trip to the car wash with a pressure washer cured that problem. This was not intentional of course- I was just cleaning the motor. I pressure washed the motor and complete drivetrain. Low and behold, the vibration disappeared. So a piece of old grease and dirt on the harmonic balancer or one of the drivelines was enough to be the cause of vibration. Moral of the story- If you have alot of grease and grime underneath, what have you got to lose? Hit it with some degreaser and high pressure and maybe you will get lucky like I did! Plus it just plain looks better. |
