Post Power Steering Pump Problem

Hi Guys,
I just installed a new power steering pump from Napa in my 67. It seemed to be ok at first but now it is acting weird. If I turn the wheel easy it works alright but not as good as it used to. If I turn the wheel with any force (how you normally would steer) it acts as if it has no power steering at all. Did I just get a bad pump? All the air is out and I have left it on for about 5 days now to see if it would get any better but it hasn't. Any ideas? Thanks...Lumpy
