Substitute for lost cage nuts for armrest
One of the two cage nuts used for attaching the armrest on my driver's door was missing. I did some searching here and there are a few posts on the topic.
In reading one, I saw all sort of comments about going to Fastenal or McMaster-Carr for replacement cage nuts. But one person mentioned that they used the square plastic inserts that are used to hold license plates on. As luck would have it, I had just bought a 4 pack of those to put the plate on my new rear bumper. Only needed two, so I have two left. Bingo, works perfect! The threads don't match the original armrest bolt, but the bolt that comes with the license plate kit is the right length. Just needed to add a washer to it. Here is a link to what I bought at the Advance Auto near me. $3.50 is enough to do both armrests if needed - 4 nuts and 4 bolts. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...0230%20cruiser
