3/4 ton ---> 1/2 ton, frames the same?

I got the following question from a visitor at 73-87.com....

Hi I hope you can help me or know someone who can.I have wrote a number of truck forums and have got so many different answers to the same question.Well here it is.I want to change my C20 to a C10 for many reasons and wanted to know if I can change the rear diff and springs and the front suspension arms, rotors calipers ect or do I have to change the whole frame.I would like to keep my frame as it is straight and solid. Also is a suburban frame the same as a pickup?

I am pretty sure the frames are identical, but before I tell him this (or show him the thread), I wanted to hear from you guys.

Let me hear what you know.
