Aftermarket Tach

Hi I bought a 79 k10 all original with a 350 backed with a sm465 transmission. Since I want to preserve the originality I don’t want to take the cluster apart and swap tach that way. I would like a tach for the matter of I’m wanting to keep an eye on the rpm to not be beating on it but also get where I need to go without risking taking it too far. What type of tach to use and where to mount?
Thanks
