Little trouble with the tailgate I bought....

I just bought a tailgate in excellent condition. I could not put it on my truck because its missing the tailgate hinges! The area were the hinge goes there is just a small hole were I guess something screws in. I went to the junkyard to see if I could get some hinges and I came across a dozen tailgates that had the hinges welded on. My old tailgate has the hinges integrated onto the tailgate. What year tailgates are like this? My truck is a 74 but the bed is from a 81-84.
