The life and times of (Oscar) a 1966 Chevrolet H70
Although, I've posted a photo of this truck before on another thread I'm not sure if I've posted these photos yet. My family's construction company once owned a 1966 Chevrolet Series 70 or, H70 Digger Derrick with a Tulsa winch and a Midwest TelElect boom and at one time drill. After my family's Construction Company finally decided to send it to the junkyard about 10 years ago after being retired at least 8 years before. I was able to find this interesting book in the glove box before it got sent to scrap. His name was Oscar (like the Sesame Street character) my dad would take the truck in to get the 401 Big Block GMC routinely serviced he would go to start it the next day and, it would not start to save his life haha. I don't know who owned the truck before Nebraska Public Power District did since they were formed in 1970 but, it was what they were called before that. I wish I had the VIN number so it could shed a little more light on what he was. He was retired in 1980 and, my dad acquired it through the annual N.P.P.D. inventory auction they used to have. As expected over the years mice had gotten to this log book as well but, you can pretty much imagine what a lot of the stuff about the N.P.P.D. policy is. And I believe that they're very good guidelines to follow. I thought people might find this book (or what's left of it lol) interesting.
