C30 Crew to C10 Crew possible?
I have been wondering about this one for a few years now since I had a chance to pick up a crew cab a few years ago but didn't follow up on it. Is it as simple as swapping the rear axle, front lower control arms, and spindles to convert one of the C30 crew cab 8 lug to a C10 5 lug? I know it is possible to retrofit a GMT400 lift kit to the C10 by swapping either the upper or lower control arms for the C30 parts and the ball joints on the remaining arms to fit the GMT 400 spindle. Due to knowing this, it got me wondering about the above. Now I suppose I could apply the GMT400 spindle idea to get there as well. But the idea I had was either C10 5 lug or use some 6 lug conversion rotors on the C10 spindle with a GMT800 rear axle to build the Crew into a 6 lug setup. Of course, again using the GMT400 2500 LD rotors on some GMT400 spindles would get there as well. I know this seems like a bunch of rambling atm but seriously contemplating the idea as I do eventually want to build a crew cab at some point.
